I'm at UW Oshkosh. I teach Instructional Technology to our undergraduates and am Dean of Graduate Studies. It's all about thinking differently to empower more people!

Active, involved, creative and green with lots of natural light, real projects and collaborative people. We would work in school and out.

If you were to lead a session at EdCamp Oshkosh, what would it be about?
Using Wikispaces in the classroom. Wikispaces is such an easy to use tool that I use it for all of my tech rich class syllabi. I really like how easy it is to embed learning objects and samples directly into the webpages. It forms the foundation upon which I frequently work.

Chad Kafka

Meet Chad Kafka:

How are you involved in education?
I'm a Technology Integration Specialist for Franklin Public Schools. I work mostly with middle school range teachers and students to drive technology in education forward. Proud to say I'm an Apple Distinguished Educator and Google Certified Teacher as well. Enjoy connecting with other educators through those networks.

What's your ideal classroom or school like?
I would love to be teaching in a 1:1 classroom where students all have a device that will access the internet so I can create/share resources online. Ideally, I would love it if all my students had MacBooks or iPads. I would also love a classroom where there is an Apple TV connected to the projector for steaming of content or streaming of student iPads to the screen.

Have you ever attended an unconference before?
I helped to run and organize edCamp Milwaukee in May 2012.

If you were to lead a session at EdCamp Oshkosh, what would it be about?
I just got back from the Apple Distinguished Educator Global Institute where we spent a lot of time designing courses for iTunes U and learned how to create iBooks -- I'm anxious to share this knowledge with others!

What is your favorite digital tool?
Google Drive/Docs keeps me organized

I'm an English teacher at William Fremd High School in Palatine, Illinois and co-author, with Tony Romano, of Expository Composition: Discovering Your Voice (EMC Publishing 2008, 2013).

My idea school is one where everyone--kids and grown-ups--is a motivated learner, and where fun is encouraged.

Have you ever attended an unconference before?
This is my first in-person unconference, although I worked with OshKosh's Jeff See on the English Companion Ning Webstitute series.

If you were to lead a session at EdCamp Oshkosh, what would it be about?
Although I haven't spent one second thinking about this until now, I could probably do something on the value of blogging--how it can be at the center of professional development for teachers, and how to successfully launch blogs for students.

Meet Shawn McCusker:

How are you involved in education?
I am a Social Studies Teacher in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. I am also an #sschat co-leader and an #edcampchicago and #edcampss organizer. I stay pretty busy.

What's your ideal classroom or school like?
Lots of student led discussion and inquiry. A solid plan that can be molded to student interest. Realistic products that require more than moving info from one spot to another and then handing them in. It would probably be loud and as connected to the outside world as i could possibly make it. Creativity and critical evaluation of lots of source materials.

Have you ever attended an unconference before?
Lots of them. I have been to #edcampchicago, #edcampss and #edcampmke

If you were to lead a session at EdCamp Oshkosh, what would it be about?
I think I would talk about iPad workflow. I am working on trying to smooth out the flow of information to and from students. It is exciting but time consuming work. Luckily I have my twitter peeps to help me out.

What is your favorite digital tool?
Evernote and Livebinder and Socrative.
